Proiectul este iniţiat de Primăria Sectorului 2 şi a fost pus în dezbatere publică pe site-ul Primăriei Capitalei. Telegondola va fi utilizat atât ca mijloc de transport în comun precum şi ca traseu turistic.
Costurile implementării proiectului au fost estimate la 20 de milioane de euro. Telegondola va pleca de la nivelul solului şi va circula la o înălţime de 85 de metri, de la Casa Presei până la capătul Şoselei Pantelimon. Traseul va fi de 10 kilometri. Telegondola se va deplasa cu o viteză de cinci metri pe secundă iar o cabină va putea transporta 1.500 de persoane.
Traseul exact al telegondolei:
– capătul Soselei Pantelimon, de lângă hipermarketul Cora
– va traversa salba de lacuri Dobroiesti, Fundeni, Colentina, Plumbuita, Tei, Floreasca
– va ajunge în Herăstrau, lânga Piaţa Presei Libere (ADEVĂRUL)
