Dacă înainte vreme vânzătorii ambulanţi cărau bunătăţile în căruţe trase de cai, acum dulciurile de vară se plimbă prin cartiere cu maşina. Căruţa care aluneca, în trecut, pe străzile Capitalei, că rând un cazan cu gheaţă a romată, vândută muşteriilor cu titlul de „îngheţată”, are a cum motor şi a reuşit treptat să prindă la bucureşteni.
Furgoneta galbenă, care „ţipă” prin difuzor, se strecoară, zi de zi, de aproape un an, prin traficul infernal din oraş, chemându-şi clienţii la delicatese de vară. Maşina de îngheţată ascunde „în pântec” zeci de sortimente de deserturi bune de răcorit arşiţa, iar proprietarii ei sfidează criza: în această perioadă, firma angajează şoferivânzători pentru deschiderea unui nou depozit.

Cărucioarele de îngheţată care zdrăngăneau din toate încheieturile pe străzile prăfuite ale oraşelor şi satelor şi adunau la „porţia de dulce” copiii – fugiţi din curţi în picioarele goale -, rămâne o amintire de neuitat pentru persoanele trecute de 40 de ani. Melancolicii spun că gustul natural de îngheţată pe care îl cărau în „şervetiere” meşteşugarii nu poate fi înlocuit.
